TAX MANAGER

Unlike traditional accounting firms, we only serve small businesses and their owners. All of our clients work with us on a monthly basis, which provides our team with the opportunity to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with small business owners. Because of this monthly business model, our tax season is not as hectic or demanding as other accounting firms. The right person for this role is someone who is motivated by helping their team and small business owners succeed.

How you will have an impact within our firm:

This role is an integral part of our firm. You will be helping our clients by providing them with insights into their business through financial reporting, tax planning, and hands-on guidance. You will be responsible for quality control over the monthly accounting work provided by our staff accountants and helping educate your team with constructive feedback and training. This role ties into our overall company vision of providing our clients with clarity and direction for the business they have always wanted.

Key Responsibilities:

Taxation:

  • Prepare and review individual, business, and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

  • Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying tax-saving opportunities and strategies.

  • Assist clients in resolving tax-related issues and responding to tax authorities' inquiries or audits.

  • Financial Reporting using QuickBooks Online

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.

  • Identify financial risks, internal control weaknesses, and recommend improvements to enhance clients' financial operations.

Business Consulting:

  • Advise clients on financial and business matters, including budgeting, cash flow management, investment decisions, and business expansion.

  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions by conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and providing recommendations.

  • Help clients implement accounting systems, internal controls, and processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and objectives.

  • Provide exceptional client service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering proactive financial advice.

  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry regulations to provide accurate and relevant guidance to clients.

Compliance and Ethics:

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Safeguard client confidentiality and maintain the highest level of integrity in handling financial information.

  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures, including KPI Management, documentation, and quality control standards.

This position is ideal for someone who has:

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

  • 3 years’ experience working in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks online, tax preparation software, and MS Office applications.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with industry trends and regulations.
